Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced individual to join our team as a delivery driver in the wholesale floral business. We operate in the early hours start times will vary between 4am & 5am, with a finish time between 9am & 10am. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely arrivals and maintaining excellent communication with team members. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your driving expertise within a dynamic warehouse environment, contributing to the smooth operation of our logistics processes.
Duties
- Safely operate a 3.5t vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Deliver goods to various locations in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of orders
- Assist with loading and unloading items, often involving heavy lifting
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times during deliveries and warehouse activities
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with 3.5t vehicles or similar commercial driving roles
- Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards
- Experience working in warehouse environments, including heavy lifting and manual handling
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
- Ability to manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines
- Organised approach to work, with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle maintenance
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting tasks and prolonged periods of driving or standing
