Location: Carmondean South, Livingston (next to Livingston North railway station)
Hours: 10 hours per week
- Tuesday afternoon – 4 hours
- Friday – 6 hours

About Jam Virtual Support
Jam Virtual Support is a growing legal support business based in Livingston. We provide legal administration and paralegal support to self-employed solicitors, consultants and law firms across the UK, helping them spend less time on administration and more time supporting their clients.
We're looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team and support us as we continue to grow.
The Role
This is a self-employed contractor role, providing regular weekly support with legal administration, including:
- Opening new client files
- Managing new enquiries, drafting client care letters and facilitating client onboarding
- AML and compliance checks
- Conflict and risk assessments
- Bundling
- Email management
- Preparing invoices
- Managing legal files and documentation
- General legal administrative support
- From time to time, providing administrative support to one of our property investment businesses, including general business administration and organisation.
The successful contractor will invoice monthly for hours worked.
There is potential to progress to more advanced paralegal style tasks such as contract reviews, legal research and drafting applications.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or Paralegal
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and client care skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
- Able to work independently and use initiative
Desirable
- Experience using LEAP Legal Software or other case management systems

Suitable applicants will receive an initial telephone call, followed by an interview, which will include a short practical task.
Please note: This is a self-employed contractor position, and the successful applicant will be responsible for invoicing for the hours worked.
