Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Forecourt Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with retail operations, and ensuring the forecourt area is clean, organised, and welcoming. This role offers an opportunity to develop organisational and communication skills within a dynamic retail environment. Fluency in multiple languages such as English and Spanish is highly desirable to better serve our diverse customer base.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries in a courteous manner
- Operate the shop tills efficiently, handling cash and card transactions accurately
- Promote and upsell products and services to maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the forecourt area, including fuel pumps, shop, and surrounding environment
- Restock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are well-presented and labelled correctly
- Manage stock levels through merchandising techniques and organise stockroom areas
- Provide information about products, promotions, and loyalty programmes to customers
- Handle phone enquiries professionally using good phone etiquette
- Assist with basic administrative tasks such as recording sales or stock counts
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English;
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Good time management to prioritise duties during busy periods
- Friendly phone etiquette for engaging with customers over the phone
- Ability to upsell products confidently without being pushy
- Multilingual abilities to serve a diverse clientele effectively
