Food & Beverage Assistant Manager
Copt Heath Golf Club
£30,000–£32,000 per year
Full Time
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Food & Beverage Assistant Manager to join the team at Copt Heath Golf Club during an exciting period of growth and transition.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of shaping the future of F&B at one of the Midlands’ leading golf clubs. Historically, our catering operation was franchised while the bar remained in-house, we are now bringing the entire F&B operation together under one team, creating a fresh, exciting culture and a real opportunity to make your mark.
The role will initially be more restaurant and catering focused while the merge is completed, but will develop into a full F&B management role across both bar and catering operations.
What the role involves
You’ll be right at the heart of the day-to-day operation, helping deliver exceptional service standards for both members and guests. No two days are the same, from busy golf days and member dining to large-scale external events and lively bar service.
Responsibilities include:
- Running day-to-day golf, member and external events
- Leading lunch and evening service operations for functions and restaurant service
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the clubhouse bar operation
- Ensuring excellent service standards across bar, restaurant and events
- Assisting with stock control, ordering and cellar/bar management
- Supporting with bar staff training, wine knowledge and upselling opportunities
- Assisting with planning and organising staff rotas across F&B departments
- Working closely with the Head Chef on menus and service delivery
- Training, mentoring and developing the F&B team to continually improve standards and confidence
- Helping create a positive team culture during the integration of the departments
- Supporting external functions and events, including sit-down meals of up to 200 covers
- Maintaining high standards for members while helping grow external business opportunities
- Supporting the wider team wherever needed, including bar, restaurant, events and occasionally kitchen porter duties during quieter shifts
- Leading from the front with a hands-on approach every shift
What we’re looking for
We want someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and thrives in a busy, varied environment. This role suits somebody who is proactive, organised and not afraid to roll their sleeves up when needed.
Ideal qualities:
- Previous F&B supervisory or management experience
- Strong restaurant, events and bar background
- Confidence managing busy bar operations and service periods
- Good knowledge of wines, spirits and bar service
- Passion for training and developing staff
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Good organisational and rota planning ability
- A hands-on attitude with willingness to support all departments
- Passion for delivering excellent member experiences
- A team player who enjoys building culture and standards
Why join us?
This is more than just an Assistant Manager role; it’s an opportunity to help build and shape a newly integrated F&B operation with real ambition behind it.
You’ll be joining a club that values quality, teamwork and member experience, while also continuing to grow its reputation as a destination for external events and functions. There will be genuine opportunities to influence standards, training, bar development and the future direction of the department.
Benefits include:
- Staff meals
- Staff parking
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- Opportunity to progress within a growing operation
- A varied role with real responsibility and input
- Supportive working environment
- The chance to make a genuine impact during an exciting transition period
If you’re passionate about hospitality, enjoy leading from the front and want to be part of an ambitious and evolving F&B team, we’d love to hear from you.
