Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head Waitress to lead our front-of-house team in delivering exceptional guest service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and restaurant operations, demonstrating excellent organisational and leadership skills. This role involves overseeing service standards, managing staff, and ensuring a memorable dining experience for all patrons. The Head Waitress will play a vital part in maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for quality and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the waiting staff to ensure efficient and courteous service.
- Coordinate table allocations and manage reservations to optimise seating capacity.
- Assist with guest enquiries, special requests, and resolve any issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the presentation of food and beverages, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Support food safety protocols and assist in food preparation when necessary.
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Train new staff members on service procedures, health & safety regulations, and restaurant policies.
- Monitor cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant environments, ideally in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food preparation processes.
- Experience in serving guests with professionalism and attentiveness.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations and culinary practices is desirable.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability in guest services, upselling techniques, and team leadership.
- Basic maths skills for handling bills, payments, and stock management are essential.
