Experienced Dog Groomer / Dog Grooming Stylist
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Basic salary plus uncapped commission
Are you an experienced dog groomer who takes just as much pride in delivering exceptional customer service as you do in producing a beautifully finished haircut?
Scooby’s Grooming Salon is a well-established, premium dog grooming salon based in Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield. We specialise in small and medium-sized dogs and are particularly known for our beautifully finished teddy bear-style cuts, high standards and exceptional client experience.
We’re looking for an experienced Dog Groomer / Dog Grooming Stylist to join our friendly, professional team.
This is a role for someone who can hit the ground running. You’ll need to be confident grooming a variety of common breeds and crossbreeds from start to finish, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce a polished, high-quality finish.
But for us, great grooming is only part of the job.
At Scooby’s, we genuinely care about creating an exceptional experience for the dogs in our care and their pet parents. Every client interaction matters.
You’ll be responsible for the complete journey of both the dog and their pet parent — from warmly and professionally checking clients in, discussing their requirements and assessing the dog, through to providing their pamper and confidently completing the handover at collection.
You should be comfortable talking clients through their dog’s haircut, offering appropriate coat-care and aftercare advice, discussing anything you have noticed during their appointment and providing general wellbeing observations where appropriate.
We’re looking for someone who can build trust and lasting relationships with our clients, making them feel confident that their dog is in excellent hands.
About you
You’ll ideally be someone who:
- Has proven professional dog grooming experience and can confidently complete grooms from start to finish to a high standard.
- Is confident working with a variety of common breeds and crossbreeds
- Is comfortable and experienced working with small and medium-sized dogs
- Has a strong understanding of breed styling and popular pet trims, particularly teddy bear-style cuts
- Has excellent attention to detail and takes genuine pride in producing a polished finish
- Delivers fantastic customer service and communicates confidently and professionally with clients
- Has a warm, upbeat and positive attitude
- Is proactive, motivated and a genuine go-getter
- Can work confidently and use their own initiative
- Is reliable, professional and takes pride in their work
- Works well as part of a close-knit team and contributes positively to the salon environment
- Genuinely cares about providing a great experience for both the dog and their pet parent
Some training and support will be provided to help you learn the Scooby’s way, but this is not a trainee position. We’re looking for an experienced Stylist who already has strong foundations and can become a productive member of the team quickly.

- Ongoing training and development
- The opportunity to work in a well-established salon with a loyal client base
- A supportive, friendly and professional team environment

The Monday-to-Friday working pattern is particularly unusual within the grooming industry and offers the opportunity to build a career in grooming while still protecting your weekends.
Who will thrive at Scooby’s?
This role would suit someone who loves grooming but also enjoys the people side of the job.
You’ll take pride in your work, notice the little details, enjoy building relationships with clients and understand that the way someone is welcomed into the salon and the way their dog is handed back to them are just as important to the overall experience as the haircut itself.
We have high standards, but we also want someone who brings a positive energy to work, supports the people around them and wants to be part of a team they can contribute to.
If you’re an experienced groomer looking for a full-time Monday-to-Friday position where you can develop your skills, earn additional uncapped commission and become an important part of a luxury salon, we’d love to hear from you.
