Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Team Leader to join our organisation. This role involves leading and inspiring young people through engaging activities, mentoring, and educational programmes. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with children and young people, demonstrating strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a positive environment. The Youth Team Leader will play a vital role in supporting youth development initiatives, ensuring programmes are inclusive, safe, and impactful.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and facilitate youth activities and programmes that promote personal growth and community engagement
- Provide mentorship and guidance to young participants, encouraging their participation and confidence
- Support the development of customised educational activities, including those tailored for individuals with special educational needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external partners to ensure programme success and address any behavioural or safeguarding concerns
- Monitor attendance and behaviour during activities, maintaining accurate records as required
- Lead by example in demonstrating positive behaviour, respect, and teamwork
- Assist in the recruitment and training of volunteers or additional team members as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching or working with children and young people
- Strong background in mentoring or youth work programmes
- Knowledge of special education needs (SEN) is desirable but not essential
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging activities effectively
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire young people from diverse backgrounds
- Relevant qualifications in teaching, youth work, or related fields are advantageous but not mandatory

Pay: £34,000.00-£39,000.00 per year
