Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role involves delivering goods efficiently and safely, as well as supporting warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience in warehouse environments, and excellent communication abilities. Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vans, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to clients or distribution centres
- Load and unload goods, employing heavy lifting techniques when necessary, while adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding schedules or issues
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as stock organisation, inventory checks, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment
- Ensure all vehicle maintenance checks are completed regularly to guarantee roadworthiness
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies during deliveries and while operating company vehicles
- Support the warehouse team with general operational duties as required
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehousing environments
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience with commercial driving and understanding of road safety regulations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a warehouse setting
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and clients
- Organised, reliable, and capable of managing time effectively to meet delivery deadlines
- Knowledge of warehouse procedures and inventory management is desirable but not essential
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and long periods of standing or walking during shifts
- FLT licence is desirable but not essential
Pay: £25,420.00-£29,016.00 per year
