Peter Crosby Landscapes Ltd is recruiting a Contracts Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of grounds maintenance, landscaping and associated works across the North West and North Wales.
This opportunity would suit either an established Contracts Manager or an experienced Contract Supervisor who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will work closely with the existing management team, coordinating several mobile teams and ensuring our contracts are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule seasonal, planned, reactive and additional works across multiple teams and sites.
- Lead and support supervisors and mobile operatives, ensuring they have clear instructions, materials, tools, plant and access information.
- Monitor workloads, productivity and service standards, adjusting resources and priorities where required.
- Inspect ongoing and completed works; carry out site and quality audits and ensure actions are closed out.
- Build professional relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors and provide clear progress updates.
- Survey new works, take measurements and photographs, and prepare accurate quotations covering labour, materials, plant, waste and access.
- Coordinate materials and subcontractors while maintaining accurate job sheets, photographs, audit records and completion reports.
- Monitor health and safety compliance and report performance, issues and upcoming workloads to senior management.
About You
You do not need to have previously held the Contracts Manager title. We welcome experienced contract or operational supervisors who can demonstrate they are ready for greater responsibility.
- Experience supervising or managing mobile teams across multiple sites, ideally within grounds maintenance, landscaping, arboriculture, facilities management or property services.
- Strong planning, leadership and problem-solving skills, with confidence balancing scheduled and reactive works.
- Professional and confident when dealing directly with commercial and social housing clients.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams, with the ability to create quotations, work schedules, audit records and client reports.
- Highly organised, comfortable using job-management systems and committed to maintaining accurate records.
- A good understanding of health and safety and a full UK driving licence.
- Experience delivering services for housing associations, local authorities, commercial estates or facilities-management clients would be advantageous.
