At the Cosy Plate Cafe we're looking for an experienced Head Barista to help lead our team and continue raising the standard of every cup we serve.
We're looking for someone who loves specialty coffee, enjoys sharing their knowledge with others and takes pride in creating consistently exceptional drinks. You'll work closely with our Front of House Manager to lead the day-to-day running of the cafe while taking ownership of everything coffee-related and other speciality drinks including Iced coffee, Matcha's, frappes and coolers, we would like to see newly invented special's on a weekly basis.
What you'll be responsible for
- Leading our coffee creations and making us stand out from other cafe's whilst providing exceptional coffee and other special drinks quality every day.
- Training, mentoring and developing our barista team.
- Setting new recipes and ensuring consistency across every drink.
- Carrying out quality control and continually improving our coffee and other drinks offerings.
- Leading by example during busy services and not to get flustered during busy periods, ensuring you maintain control throughout your shift and lead by example and displaying professionalism at all times.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent specialty coffee knowledge and extensive experience of using the espresso machine - This is the most important requirement for the role.
- Has excellent customer care skills and is attentive towards our customers
- Has previous hospitality experience (also essential).
- Has experience training or mentoring other baristas.
- Has exceptionally high standards and a great eye for detail.
- Is calm, organised and confident leading a team.
- Is friendly, approachable and genuinely community-minded.
- Wants to continue learning and grow with our company by supporting the marketing of the company.
- Must be tech savvy i.e. instagram, tik tok and facebook. Be able to drive social media engagement as a tool to promote the services and items we offer on the menu and in the cafe.
- Must have high standards of cleanliness and experience of Food hygiene standards this is paramount, cleaning the equipment will be part of this role and to support the team with their tasks.
- We are looking for an experienced Barista who can create bespoke Latte art.
