Yard Manager
Location: Pegasus Grab Hire, Throckmorton Airfield, Long Lane, Pershore, WR10 2JH
Pay: £15 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 4:30pm
We are looking for a reliable, organised and hands-on Yard Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our satellite yard at Throckmorton Airfield.
This is an important role within the operation, responsible for controlling materials entering and leaving the site, maintaining accurate records and ensuring the yard remains safe, tidy and well organised.
What you’ll do:
- Manage the day-to-day running of the yard
- Operate a loading shovel to safely move materials around the yard and load vehicles
- Book in and record all materials being delivered into the site
- Accurately record materials and loads leaving the site
- Ensure all vehicles and customers tipping or collecting from the yard are correctly recorded
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and site activity
- Liaise with drivers, customers and other members of the Pegasus team
- Keep the yard clean, tidy and well organised
- Carry out general housekeeping duties around the site
- Monitor stock and materials held within the yard
- Ensure vehicles are directed to the correct tipping and loading areas
- Help maintain a safe working environment and ensure site procedures are followed
- Complete basic administrative duties using computer systems
- Assist with any other general yard duties as required
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience operating a loading shovel is essential
- Ability to safely load HGVs and move materials around a busy yard
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Good attention to detail, particularly when recording loads and materials
- Confident dealing with drivers, customers and suppliers
- Comfortable using a computer for day-to-day tasks
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Good communication skills
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved
- Previous experience working within a yard, waste, recycling, aggregates, construction or similar environment would be advantageous
