Freelance Florist
We are a busy, friendly florist team based on a farm in Lightwater, looking for experienced freelance floriststo join our team on an ongoing basis.
Working from our farm gives us the opportunity to offer a role that is interesting, varied and diverse, with no two days being the same. Our work covers everyday retail floristry alongside high-end designs, contracts, weddings, events and bespoke customer requirements.
We are looking for experienced freelance florists who are passionate about their work, have a strong creative eye, and take real pride in producing beautiful, high-quality floristry.
Reliability and attention to detail are paramount. We need freelance florists who can be relied upon to step into a busy environment, work efficiently and independently, and maintain our high standards from start to finish.
The Role
This is a varied and hands-on freelance position within a busy working environment. You will need to be confident creating professional-quality floristry, working quickly to deadlines and adapting to the changing needs of the business.
You should be equally comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and be willing to take on a wide variety of floristry tasks.
Freelance work may include regular weekday work as well as weekends, early starts and occasional evenings, depending on our workload and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Create beautiful, high-quality bouquets and floral arrangements with proficiency and speed.
· Be confident creating a wide range of professional floral styles, including modern country, domed, asymmetrical, meadow-style and deconstructed designs, adapting your style to suit each customer, brief and occasion.
· Produce high-end floral work for contracts, weddings and events to an exceptional standard.
· Work quickly, efficiently and accurately under pressure and to tight deadlines.
· Maintain consistently high standards of quality, presentation and design.
· Process, condition and care for flowers correctly to ensure freshness and longevity.
· Prepare orders, bouquets and arrangements to a consistently high standard.
· Maintain an organised, clean and well-presented working environment.
· Manage stock, rotate flowers appropriately and help minimise wastage.
· Respond professionally to customer, event, contract and wedding requirements where needed.
· Use good judgement to maximise design impact while remaining cost-effective.
· Keep up to date with seasonal flowers, floral trends and developments within the industry.
· Contribute new ideas, designs and creative suggestions to the team.
· Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues.
· Work confidently with minimal supervision and be able to organise your workload effectively.
· Support the wider team and fit seamlessly into the day-to-day running of the business.
· Be willing and able to drive a company van when required, including for deliveries, collections, events and other business needs.
Requirements
· Minimum 3 years’ professional experience working at an experienced level in a florist retail environment.
· Previous professional retail floristry experience is essential.
· Strong knowledge of flowers, foliage, conditioning and professional floristry techniques.
· Proven ability to create a wide range of professional floral styles, including modern country, domed, asymmetrical, meadow-style and deconstructed designs.
· Proven experience with high-end work, contracts, weddings and events to a very high standard.
· Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
· Highly reliable and dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
· Ability to work quickly, accurately and calmly under pressure.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
· Good knowledge of the floristry industry and current trends.
· Good spoken and written English.
· Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively.
· Willingness to drive a van is important for this role.
· Friendly, approachable personality with a positive “can-do” attitude.
· Flexible and willing to get involved in the varied nature of the work.
· A genuine passion for floristry and pride in producing work to a consistently high standard.

Freelance Position
We are looking to build a strong pool of reliable freelance florists who we can call upon for regular work and busier periods.
The amount of work will vary depending on our requirements, so flexibility and availability are important.
Please note: Applicants without the required level of professional florist experience will unfortunately not be considered.

From £13.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills and suitability for the role.
