Peripatetic String Teacher (Maternity Cover) Glen Parva, Leicester.
Violin & Cello | Part-Time | Fixed Term (Approx. 1.5 Terms)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Peripatetic String Teacher to cover maternity leave for approximately one and a half terms. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young musicians across a range of settings within our school.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
Deliver individual and small group tuition in violin and cello
Lead whole-class teaching for Year 3 pupils as part of a wider curriculum programme
Contribute to and support Wider Opportunities (Whole Class Ensemble Teaching) projects
Encourage participation, progression, and enjoyment in music across all abilities
About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
Has proven teaching experience in instrumental music (essential)
Is confident teaching both violin and cello to beginners and developing players
Has experience or understanding of Wider Opportunities programmes is a must.
Can deliver engaging, inclusive whole-class lessons
Is well-organised, reliable, and able to work independently within a school environment
Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills
Contract Details
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Approximately 1.5 terms (maternity cover)
Hours: Tuesday full day and Wednesday half day.
