A bit about OMGTea
OMGTea is a premium matcha tea brand pioneering high quality, authentic Japanese matcha in the UK.
When we launched over 12 years ago, matcha was virtually unknown in the UK. We spent years educating consumers, retailers and hospitality on what real matcha is, how it should taste, and why quality matters. Today, we’ve played a meaningful role in shaping the category.
We offer award-winning, certified organic matcha sourced exclusively from Japan, working in long-term partnership with AIYA Japan, one of the world’s most respected producers.
We are stocked by retailers including Selfridges, Holland & Barrett, Whole Foods, Mindful Chef and Ocado, and are both Soil Association certified organic and a Certified B Corp.
We are now entering our next phase of growth and are looking for someone to help drive that forward commercially.
The Role
This is a hands-on commercial role focused on driving sales and building momentum across retail, foodservice and emerging channels.
You will work closely with the founder, taking ownership of day-to-day commercial activity, pipeline management and account growth.
This is not a big corporate Head of Sales role, it’s for someone who enjoys being close to the detail, moving quickly, and making things happen.
We’re looking for someone who can come in and make an immediate difference, not wait for structure to exist.
Your role in action
Sales & Account Management
- Own and manage relationships across retail, foodservice and key accounts
- Lead buyer conversations, follow-ups, samples and day-to-day communication
- Support and move forward key opportunities (e.g. Boots, supermarkets, independents)
- Ensure strong ongoing relationships and repeat business
Pipeline & New Business
- Build and actively manage a clear, structured sales pipeline
- Proactively identify and reach out to new opportunities
- Drive meetings with buyers and decision-makers
- Track all activity clearly (HubSpot / CRM)
Driving Revenue
- Take ownership of weekly and monthly sales targets
- Identify where growth will come from and focus activity accordingly
- Work closely with marketing to align campaigns with sales opportunities
- Support trade activations and promotional planning
Commercial Discipline
- Keep visibility on pipeline, forecasts and risks
- Ensure follow-ups are timely and consistent
- Help bring more structure and pace to how sales is run
- Work closely with operations on stock and availability
Who we’re looking for
Experience
- Experience in food, drink or wellness (ideally premium or ingredient-led)
- Some experience working with UK retail buyers or foodservice
- Proven ability to drive conversations forward and close opportunities
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced business
You’ll likely be someone who:
- Is proactive, responsive and follows things through
- Enjoys building relationships and getting in front of people
- Is organised and structured (especially with pipeline and follow-up)
- Is commercially aware, but not overly corporate
- Likes being hands-on and making things happen
- Is comfortable working closely with a founder

Package
- £40,000 base salary (depending on experience)
- Performance-based bonus linked to revenue growth

We’re more interested in finding the right person who can grow with the business than over-engineering the role.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
