The Finance Business Partner plays a key role in supporting the company’s strategic and operational performance through the provision of high-quality financial insight, robust financial control, and proactive commercial challenge.
The role has primary responsibility for Finance Business Partnering and:
1. Financial the financial management, management accounts, and statutory compliance of our Ireland division, including full accountability for the Irish statutory audit process.
2. the financial oversight of the UK fleet, working closely with the internal fleet team to ensure the fleet operates efficiently, safely, and within budget.
3. The production of management accounts and commentary for a UK division
The role requires close collaboration with the CFO and Group to ensure full proficiency and effective use of the company’s financial systems including Business Central.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management
· Full responsibility for the financial management and management accounts of divisions of the SBU
· Preparation of monthly management accounts including profit and loss, variance analysis, and performance commentary.
· Ownership of annual budgets and forecasts for certain divisions
· Monitoring financial performance and providing insights into revenue, margin, and cost drivers.
· Responsibility for working capital monitoring and cash flow forecasting for Ireland.
· Acting as the primary finance contact for the Irish business operations.
Statutory Reporting and Audit
· Full responsibility and accountability for the Ireland statutory audit process.
· Coordination with external auditors to ensure efficient and timely completion of the audit.
· Ensuring all statutory reporting and compliance requirements are met.
· Maintaining strong financial controls and governance processes.
Fleet Financial Oversight
· Work with the Fleet Manager providing analysis and insight enabling proactive use of Telematics data to improve driver behaviour, safety and operational efficiency.
· Supporting initiatives to improve fleet utilisation, cost efficiency and sustainability.
Business Partnering
· Partner with operational leadership across UK and Ireland to provide financial insight and challenge.
· Support operational teams in understanding financial performance, margins and cost drivers.
· Provide proactive analysis to support decision making and operational improvements.
· Assist in identifying and delivering profit improvement and cost optimisation initiatives.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Monitoring
· Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for Ireland and certain divisions.
· Track performance against budget and forecasts identifying key variances and performance drivers.
· Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support business planning.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
· Produce and interpret monthly management information including profit and loss reporting.
· Provide clear and actionable financial commentary to senior management.
· Support performance reviews through data driven insight and analysis.
Systems and Process Development
· Support the continued development and improvement of financial systems, reporting processes and data quality.
Continuous Improvement
· Act as a change agent identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.
· Support the business in preparing for continued growth and operational development.
Qualifications and Skills
· Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.
· Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred.
· Experience in finance business partnering, commercial finance, or management accounting roles.
· Experience working closely with operational stakeholders in a commercial environment. Key internal stakeholders include Financial Controller, Fleet Manager, MD, Operations Directors.
· Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
· Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders and provide constructive challenge.
· Strong Excel and financial modelling capability.
· Experience with ERP and reporting systems, ideally including Business Central, Sales Force and OneStream.
Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
