Lanka Kade is a small family run business established in 1994 based in Market Harborough, south Leicestershire, on the borders of Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. Our modern headquarters incorporate office, showroom, canteen and 10,000 sq. ft warehouse. Passionate about ethical and sustainable trade, Lanka Kade specialises in the design, manufacture and wholesale of quality wooden toys suitable for children aged from birth to 8 years.
Product is imported from Sri Lanka and distributed across the UK, Europe and Rest of World. Our UK team consists of 10 employees covering all aspects of the business including product design, advertising, liaison with Sri Lanka, sales, and national events. The successful candidate will form a valued and integral team member.
Core Responsibilities:
· Oversee, manage, motivate and organise daily work and targets for warehouse staff
· Picking and packing orders accurately and efficiently
· Rotating and replenishing stock
· Maintain accurate inventory levels
· Monitor product quality and feedback to management
· Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
· Unload containers and help process stock
· Help prepare and construct exhibition stands for events across the country
· Help prepare, construct and attend retail shows across the country
· Communicate directly with management. Involvement in decision making and problem solving.
The successful candidate is:
· Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy boxes
· A positive, can-do attitude with flexibility in approach
· Strong attention to detail with speed and accuracy in tasks
· Able to work alone, and as part of a team
· Good command of spoken and written English
· Able to set and meet deadlines
Preferred but not essential:
· Experience driving a counterbalance forklift
· Full clean UK driving licence
· Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday)
