About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next generation of writers, readers, and thinkers, equipping students with both the creative and critical skills needed to thrive in rapidly evolving cultural and technological environments.
You will contribute to teaching and supervision across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in English and Creative Writing, while developing an internationally recognised profile in research, knowledge exchange, or professional creative practice. We are looking for a colleague who combines disciplinary excellence with intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to innovative pedagogy.

What we’re looking for
You will have:
- A PhD in English, Creative Writing, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional standing)
- Expertise in a contemporary area of writing practice, narrative design, digital storytelling, creative technologies, or a closely related field
- The ability to teach creatively across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules
- An emerging or established profile in research, publication, professional practice, or knowledge exchange
- A strong interest in the opportunities and challenges presented by AI and other emerging technologies for writing, creativity, and culture
- Excellent communication, collegiality and a commitment to supporting student success
