About Us
Mitch’s Swim Scheme is a rapidly growing, high-quality swim school delivering structured, engaging lessons to children of all abilities. With over 250 students across multiple venues, we are expanding into a new site in Stratford and are looking for a confident, professional Swimming Teacher to play a key role in launching and growing this venue.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a brand-new venue. You will be the sole member of staff on-site, responsible for delivering lessons, managing customers, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
You must be confident working independently and comfortable interacting directly with parents and swimmers.
Initial Shift:
- Sunday -10:15am – 1:15pm (with paid additional time for set-up and administration)
There is strong potential for additional hours as the venue grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality swimming lessons in line with Swim England/STA standards
- Provide excellent customer service to parents and swimmers
- Manage the pool environment safely and professionally as the sole staff member
- Set up and pack away equipment before and after sessions
- Support the growth of the venue through a professional and proactive approach
- Maintain accurate registers and communicate effectively with the wider team
Requirements
Essential (please do not apply if you do not have the relevant qualifications):
- Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification (STA or Swim England)
- Valid lifesaving qualification (NRASTC, STA Safety Award, or Pool Lifeguard Qualification)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Confidence working independently
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Desirable:
- Previous experience teaching swimming lessons
- Safeguarding training (preferably via the Institute of Swimming)
- Experience working with children of varying abilities
- A professional, reliable, and proactive attitude
