Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated HGV Grab Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy goods vehicles equipped with grab attachments, primarily focusing on the safe and efficient transportation and unloading of materials and removal of materials. This role requires a professional driver with experience in commercial driving and familiarity with flatbed and grab operations. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent driving skills, adherence to safety standards, and a proactive approach to logistics and delivery tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV lorries with grab attachments to load, transport, and unload materials efficiently and safely.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle and grab equipment to ensure optimal functioning and compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist in the secure loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling of materials to prevent damage or accidents.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Follow all traffic laws, health & safety protocols, and company policies during operations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any operational issues.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout shifts.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV licence with relevant category for operating large goods vehicles- CPC
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed trucks or similar vehicles.
- Experience operating grab attachments is highly desirable.
- Delivery driver experience preferred, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Good understanding of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for record keeping and compliance documentation.
Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
