Rehabilitation Support Worker – Newton Abbot & Exeter
RMR Rehabilitation Support Workers Ltd is looking for a compassionate, reliable and motivated Rehabilitation Support Worker to support clients across the Newton Abbot, Exeter and surrounding areas.
This is a self-employed, flexible/sessional role, working one-to-one with clients in their homes and local communities.
About the role
You will support individuals with neurological conditions, spinal injuries, amputations and other complex rehabilitation needs.
Working alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, case managers and other healthcare professionals, you will help clients carry out prescribed rehabilitation programmes and put their therapy goals into practice in everyday life.
Your role may include:
- Supporting prescribed rehabilitation and home exercise programmes
- Encouraging physical activity, confidence and independence
- Supporting daily living activities and home-based routines
- Supporting community access, shopping, public transport and social activities
- Helping clients work towards their individual rehabilitation goals
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the rehabilitation team
- Completing session notes and progress reports
Who we're looking for
This role may particularly suit a Graduate Physiotherapist looking to gain valuable hands-on rehabilitation experience, or a Level 2 qualified Personal Trainer/Exercise Professional interested in developing a career in rehabilitation and adaptive exercise.
Applicants should have:
- A Physiotherapy degree OR Level 2 Personal Training qualification (or equivalent)
- An understanding of rehabilitation and adaptive exercise
- Experience working with people with disabilities, neurological conditions or long-term health conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, empathetic, reliable and professional approach
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one
- Professional indemnity insurance or willingness to obtain it
