The Role
Aloft Manchester is looking for a Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day finance function of the hotel.
This is an entry-level role covering a broad range of finance responsibilities, including accounts payable, invoice processing, goods receiving, stock control, reconciliations and general finance administration.
A key part of the position will also be managing incoming deliveries and supporting stock takes across the hotel, ensuring goods received and supplier invoices are accurately recorded and controlled.
Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and check incoming hotel deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Ensure quantities, pricing and goods received are accurate and report any discrepancies or damaged items.
- Process, code and match supplier invoices to purchase orders and delivery records.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable and supplier records.
- Assist with preparing supplier payment runs.
- Respond to supplier queries and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Assist with regular stock takes across Food & Beverage and other relevant departments.
- Record stock counts and help investigate stock variances.
- Support stock control procedures and monitor movements of hotel stock.
- Complete basic bank, supplier and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with daily revenue and income checks where required.
- Support the reconciliation of card payments, cash and other hotel income.
- Assist with debtor and creditor administration.
- Maintain accurate finance, purchasing and stock documentation.
- Support month-end procedures, including invoice accruals, stock reporting and reconciliations.
- Assist with petty cash and banking administration where required.
- Liaise with hotel departments regarding purchasing, invoices, deliveries and financial queries.
- Ensure the hotel’s purchasing and finance approval procedures are followed.
- Provide general finance and administrative support to the Group Finance Manager.
- Assist with audit requests and preparation of supporting documentation.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Organised, reliable and willing to learn.
- Comfortable working with numbers.
- Accurate and attentive to detail.
- Confident using email, Excel and basic computer systems.
- Comfortable dealing with suppliers and hotel departments.
- Happy carrying out both office-based finance duties and physical stock/delivery checks.
- Able to manage routine tasks independently once trained.
Previous finance, accounts, hotel or stock control experience would be helpful but is not essential.

Pay: £25,420.00-£30,000.00 per year
