Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Indian Curry Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for authentic Indian cuisine, specialising in curry preparation, and have a strong background in food production within a fast-paced restaurant environment. Previous supervisory and team management experience is highly desirable, along with a commitment to food safety and high standards of hospitality.
Duties
- Chef must know how to make Dish (Momo)
- Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian curries and related dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain consistency and excellence in food preparation
- Manage food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards and health regulations
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor stock levels, place orders for ingredients, and manage inventory to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Assist in menu development by introducing new curry recipes and culinary innovations
- Serve dishes to customers when required, ensuring presentation meets quality standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Indian cuisine, particularly curry preparation within a professional kitchen setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Strong background in food production, food safety, and hygiene practices
- Excellent cooking skills with a deep understanding of Indian spices and cooking techniques
- Previous experience working in restaurants or hospitality environments is preferred
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including serving procedures and customer service standards
