Lead a New Children’s Home
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a new 3-bed Children’s Residential Home in Dagenham, East London, supporting 2 young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Offering a basic salary of £45,000–£55,000 plus a bonus equivalent to 20% of salary, this is an attractive opportunity for an ambitious children’s residential professional looking to take ownership of a new service and develop it from the outset.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the culture of the home, develop a strong staff team and establish high standards of child-centred care from day one.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, development and effective day-to-day management of the home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the new Children’s Residential Home
- Recruiting, leading, supervising and developing the residential staff team
- Maintaining excellent safeguarding and child-centred practice
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Overseeing care plans, risk assessments and quality assurance
- Establishing a positive, stable and nurturing culture within the home
- Building strong relationships with Local Authorities, families and external professionals
- Monitoring service quality and driving continuous improvement
- Supporting young people with EBD to achieve positive outcomes
- Maintaining consistently high standards across the service
What We’re Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates with:
- Strong experience within an Ofsted-regulated Children’s Residential Home
- Previous management/leadership experience within Children’s Residential Care
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop residential staff
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidence in helping establish and develop a new residential service
Previous Registered Manager experience is highly desirable.
Strong Deputy Managers who are ready to progress into registration may also be considered.
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and Level 5 Leadership & Management, or progress towards Level 5, would be highly desirable.
