Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have passion and a strong understanding of the unique needs of individuals in the nursing home environments. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Coordinate and facilitate a variety of recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Engage with residents to assess their interests and preferences, ensuring that activities are meaningful and enjoyable.
- Collaborate with staff members to integrate activities into daily routines and support individual care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve the activities programme.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and encourage participation.
- Ensure that all activities comply with health and safety regulations while fostering a safe environment for all participants.
Requirements
- Previous experience working within an assisted living or nursing home setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with residents on a personal level.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
- A creative mindset with the ability to plan engaging activities that cater to diverse interests.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A compassionate approach towards caring for seniors, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their needs.
- Relevant qualifications in health or social care would be beneficial but are not essential.

Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS application of which expense will be met by candidate, unless registered and hold a transferrable DBS disclosure.
Full Time Monday to Friday 9 am until 4 pm
Driving licence preferred.
Pay: £12.80 per hour
