We're looking for an experienced, self-employed contact supervisor to oversee weekly supervised contact between a father and his children at the father's home in Richmond, London. This is a private family arrangement under a court order. Immediate start, with flexibility needed across the summer.
The role
Be present for the full session and make sure it runs safely. You stay attentive throughout, observe, and step in or bring the session to an early close if the children's welfare requires it. Your focus is entirely on the session in front of you.
When and where
Sundays, 4 hours per session. At the father's residence in Richmond (TW postcode area). Ongoing, weekly. We need someone who can commit reliably through the summer.
What we're looking for
- Prior experience supervising child contact, or a strong safeguarding background
- Confident managing sessions where one parent may be controlling or difficult, and calm under pressure
- Awareness of domestic abuse and coercive control dynamics
- Enhanced DBS certificate (child workforce), or willing to share one on request
- Your own public liability or professional indemnity insurance
- Contactable references from previous contact supervision or safeguarding work
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
Certified Independent Social Workers are welcome and preferred, with pay reflecting that. Junior and uncertified applicants with the right instincts are equally encouraged to apply.
What this role does not involve
No court attendance. No formal reports or assessments. No written statements. Purely supervising the session itself.
Rate and terms
£40 to £55 per hour, depending on qualification and experience, paid as a self-employed contractor. Weekly Sunday sessions.
To apply
Send a short message with your relevant experience, your DBS and insurance status, contactable references, and your Sunday availability across July and August.
Pay: From £40.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
