Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chip Shop Fryer to join our busy food establishment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality fried foods, ensuring all dishes meet our standards of excellence. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering exceptional service and maintaining food safety standards. Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right applicant. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering delicious meals to our customers while maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and set up fryers for daily operations
- Cook and fry food items to the correct specifications, ensuring quality and consistency
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to guarantee food safety and optimal results
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including fryers, utensils, and work surfaces
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including proper handling of hot oil and equipment
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed.
- Ensure all food is presented attractively and served promptly to customers
- Adhere to all food safety standards and procedures during daily operations
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation or kitchen roles, ideally within a restaurant or takeaway environment
- Knowledge of cooking techniques specific to frying foods
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including weekends if necessary
