New Venture Care Ltd is looking for reliable, compassionate and proactive Support Workers to join our supported living team in Gloucester.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting adults to live as independently, safely and confidently as possible.

What you'll be doing
As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support based on each individual's needs, choices and goals.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting individuals with daily living skills and routines
- Encouraging independence rather than doing everything for the individual
- Supporting personal care where required
- Supporting with meal planning, shopping and preparation
- Supporting individuals to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable home
- Supporting access to appointments, activities and the local community
- Promoting social inclusion and meaningful activities
- Supporting medication in accordance with care plans and company procedures
- Completing accurate daily notes and other care documentation
- Following individual care plans and risk assessments
- Identifying and reporting changes in an individual's wellbeing or behaviour
- Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally
- Safeguarding the people we support and escalating concerns appropriately
- Working effectively with colleagues, families and external professionals
- Completing household and health & safety duties as required
- Contributing to effective shift handovers and good communication across the team

Previous experience in supported living, mental health, learning disabilities, autism, complex needs or adult social care would be advantageous.
However, we will also consider applicants with the right values, attitude and willingness to learn.

Working pattern
We have opportunities for both full-time and part-time Support Workers.
Applicants must be able to participate in a flexible rota, which may include day shifts, evenings and weekends, depending on the needs of the service.
