Purpose of Job
To support the delivery of a high quality, accommodation-based harm reduction service for people with a range of alcohol, drug, mental and physical health problems, supervising residents’ conduct, health, hygiene, safety and welfare during the night-time.
To ensure all residents are given the security and support to minimise harm and risk, address individual need and take control of their own lives.
Duties and responsibilities
Working with Service Users
To provide clients with assistance and support as required
To maintain an understanding and awareness of all support plans and risk assessments / risk management plans
To promote the principles and philosophy of harm reduction and provide advice, information and guidance around substance use.
To diffuse difficult or dangerous situations and to summon outside assistance when necessary
To undertake general office duties including effective use of relevant ICT systems and case files and dealing with telephone and general enquiries
To promote and ensure equality, diversity and the rights and responsibilities of individuals.
Communication
To work in partnership with team colleagues ensuring a thorough handover prior and after each shift.
To ensure any concerns relating to clients’ physical or emotional condition are passed on to the Manager / Deputy Manager or relelvant person on duty
To arrange/participate in staff and client meetings as and when required
