Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Natural Stone Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating specialised saws and fabrication equipment to cut and shape natural stone materials with precision. Responsibilities
- Operate specialised stone cutting saws and fabrication machinery in accordance with safety protocols and production schedules.
- Programme and adjust machinery using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to achieve precise cuts and shapes.
- Utilise CAD software and SolidWorks for planning and visualising complex cuts when required.
- Handle materials safely, including loading, unloading, and transporting stone slabs within the workshop using appropriate handling equipment.
- Perform basic maintenance on tools and machinery, including sharpening, lubricating, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Use hand tools such as chisels, grinders, and drills for finishing touches or minor adjustments.
- Measure materials accurately using basic math skills to ensure specifications are met.
- Assist with assembly processes when necessary, ensuring finished products meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments is preferred, particularly with natural stone or similar materials.
- Familiarity with CAD software, SolidWorks, or other design programmes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, tooling, milling processes, and materials handling techniques is desirable.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or in a warehouse setting will be considered beneficial.
- Practical skills in welding or assembly work are a plus but not essential.
- Candidates should possess good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
