We are currently looking for a Skilled Machinist to join our busy workshop to use a manual lathe & would be willing to learn other larger machines- Binns & Berry and horizontal borer.
The job includes producing parts to the right tolerances from the engineering drawings & able to perform turning,boring, trepanning, roughing & finishing operations.
Good understanding of engineering drawings necessary. Mainly working with Stainless Steel,alloys, brass, copper & plastics.
You should be self-motivated and enthusiastic and be able to work efficiently alone and as a team player.
Working week 37hrs with occasional over time depending on customer requirements- Mon to Thurs 07:30- 16:00 or 08:00- 16:30 and Friday 07:30-12:30 or 08:00 - 13:00.
Hourly rate to be agreed depending on experience.
Preferred time served apprentice with a couple of years experience post apprenticeship.
Candidates will be expected to come to our site in Abingdon for interview and trade test.
