You will be dedicated to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and working with children. This role involves guiding a team of childcare professionals, ensuring high standards of care and education, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children to thrive. The Senior Nursery Manager / Leader will play a pivotal role in maintaining the nursery’s reputation for excellence and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursery team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee daily nursery operations, ensuring smooth running of activities and programmes.
- Develop and implement educational plans aligned with early childhood development standards.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene within the nursery environment.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, communicating effectively about their children's progress and wellbeing.
- Monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals, and facilitate ongoing training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to childcare provision.
- Organise staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Manage administrative tasks including record keeping, budgeting, and resource management.
- Promote a positive team culture centred on teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Extensive knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood development, and relevant legislation.
- Experience working directly with children in a childcare or educational environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build effective relationships with children, parents, staff, and external agencies.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality childcare services that support children's growth and development.
- Organised with excellent administrative skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Pay: £40,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
