Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Classic Motorcycle Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, restore, and maintain vintage and classic motorcycles. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working with a variety of classic motorcycle brands and models. This role involves engine rebuilds, electrical fault diagnosis, restoration projects, routine servicing, and ensuring motorcycles are returned to customers in excellent working condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance issues on classic motorcycles.
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections.
- Rebuild and repair engines, transmissions, carburettors, and braking systems.
- Restore vintage motorcycles to original or customer-specified standards.
- Repair and troubleshoot ignition, charging, and electrical systems.
- Fabricate, fit, or modify components when replacement parts are unavailable.
- Maintain accurate service records and restoration documentation.
- Test ride motorcycles to ensure repairs and restorations meet quality standards.
- Advise customers on maintenance requirements and restoration options.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a motorcycle mechanic, preferably with classic or vintage motorcycles.
- Strong understanding of motorcycle engines, carburettors, electrical systems, and chassis components.
- Ability to read technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with classic motorcycle brands such as Triumph, Norton, BSA, Royal Enfield, Harley-Davidson, BMW, Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Valid motorcycle license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in motorcycle repair.
- Experience with motorcycle restoration projects.
- Welding, fabrication, or machining skills.
- Knowledge of sourcing and fitting vintage motorcycle parts.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move motorcycles and parts safely.
- Comfortable standing, bending, and working with tools for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a workshop environment with noise, grease, and mechanical equipment.

Pay: £26,193.37-£50,000.00 per year
