Reception Teaching Assistant
Sense Education are looking for a warm, enthusiastic and nurturing Reception Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Bury.
Working with children at the very beginning of their school journey is incredibly special. For some pupils, starting school can feel like a huge step – and having the right adult beside them can make all the difference. We’re looking for someone who can bring energy, patience and plenty of encouragement into the classroom, helping little ones feel settled, supported and excited to explore the world around them.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you’ll be an important part of the children’s first experiences of school, helping them to:
· Feel safe, comfortable and confident in their new surroundings
· Explore learning through play, sensory activities and practical experiences
· Develop early communication and social skills
· Build confidence with routines and everyday tasks
· Take their first steps towards independence
· Stay engaged and supported throughout the school day
· Celebrate those lovely little moments when something finally clicks
Qualifications & Requirements
· Minimum qualifications required – A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree or equivalent)
· Experience supporting children with SEND
· Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Role Type: Full Time/ Part Time/ Temp – Perm
Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.90 per hour
Working Hours
Term-time only
Monday – Friday
8.30am – 3.30pm
Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Pay: £14.60-£16.90 per hour
