Thesleff Group is looking for an experienced Group Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of health & safety,food safety,fire safety and compliance across our growing portfolio of London restaurants and bars.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage compliance from behind a desk.
As our Group Health & Safety Manager,you will be visible across our venues,working closely with operational teams to make sure our standards are not only documented,but understood,implemented and maintained.
You will combine strong technical knowledge with a practical,solutions-focused approach – supporting our teams,identifying risk and helping us create safer,stronger and more compliant venues.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of People,the Group Health & Safety Manager will work across the Group alongside Operations,venue management,kitchen teams,Facilities,Maintenance and senior leadership.
You will:

Take ownership of health & safety standards across our venues

Ensure compliance with relevant UK health & safety legislation and company policies

Develop and maintain risk assessments,method statements and safe systems of work

Oversee food safety and hygiene standards,including allergens,temperature control,cleaning,pest control and cross-contamination

Support fire safety procedures,fire risk assessments,emergency plans and evacuation drills

Conduct regular health,safety and food safety audits across the Group

Produce clear audit reports and practical action plans

Lead and support Environmental Health Officer visits and follow-up actions

Liaise with local authorities,regulators,consultants and contractors

Support the investigation of accidents,near misses and food safety incidents

Coordinate health & safety and food safety training,inductions and refresher programmes
-
Monitor corrective actions and ensure agreed improvements are completed

Help venue teams understand and take ownership of their health & safety responsibilities

Share best practice and continuously improve standards across the Group
About You
We are looking for a Group Health & Safety Manager who understands that excellent compliance is about more than policies and paperwork.
You will be confident walking into a busy restaurant,identifying what needs attention and working constructively with the team to find a practical solution.
You will ideally have:

Previous experience in health & safety,food safety,compliance or a similar role

Experience within hospitality,food & beverage or another multi-site environment

Strong practical knowledge of food safety and hygiene

A good understanding of UK health & safety,fire safety and food hygiene requirements

Experience working with Environmental Health Officers,local authorities or external regulators
-
Experience supporting or coordinating health & safety and food safety training
-
Strong organisational,administrative and reporting skills

The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
