Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and a keen eye for food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in catering, cooking, and food preparation within a dynamic setting.
Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and food assembly, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards
- Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and basic cooking tasks under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen surfaces
- Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient workflow during service times
- Follow food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times
- Help with serving food to customers or guests as required
- Support catering events by setting up and clearing down after service
- Assist with stock checks and inventory management to ensure supplies are well-maintained
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food service is desirable
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation processes
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Basic culinary experience is advantageous but training will be provided for the right candidate
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
