Job Overview
This is a hands on digital marketing role working with trades and construction businesses across the UK.
We provide our partners with much more than advertising. Our complete package includes Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram Ads, professional websites, CRM and sales pipelines, project management software, client portals, AI admin tools and ongoing reporting.
The aim is to give trades businesses the marketing and systems they need to generate more enquiries, stay organised and grow properly.
We are looking for an experienced digital marketer who can take ownership of the Google Ads and Meta campaigns across our partner network. You will be responsible for building campaigns, managing budgets, improving cost per lead and, most importantly, generating genuine, qualified enquiries.
You must be confident working across both Google Ads and Meta. You also need to understand the difference between generating leads and generating leads that turn into paying customers.
Experience within construction, home improvement or the trades would be a major advantage. You need to understand how trades businesses operate, how customers choose contractors and what makes someone enquire about a high value project.
If you have not worked directly within the industry, you will need the commercial awareness to understand it quickly.
This is not a role where you will simply send reports at the end of the month. You will be working inside the accounts every day, monitoring performance, testing campaigns and making changes based on the numbers.
We are building something ambitious, and this person will play an important role in shaping how our marketing service develops as we grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, manage and optimise Google Ads and Meta campaigns for our trade partners, generating qualified enquiries from homeowners and commercial customers
- Run Trade Engine’s own Google Ads and Meta campaigns to attract new trade partners across the UK
- Understand the difference between B2C campaigns aimed at customers and B2B campaigns aimed at trade business owners
- Manage advertising budgets across multiple accounts, making sure every pound is spent effectively
- Reduce cost per lead while improving lead quality. We care about genuine enquiries that turn into paying customers, not cheap leads that go nowhere
- Set up, test and maintain conversion tracking, call tracking and analytics so we always know what is working
- Audit underperforming accounts, identify the problems and take ownership of improving their performance
- Review lead quality with partners and use their feedback to improve targeting, messaging and campaigns
- Understand each partner’s services, locations, margins and capacity before deciding what to promote
- Plan and manage remarketing and email campaigns to get more value from every lead
- Create and manage social media content that builds our partners’ online presence
- Develop content that attracts the right customers and supports campaign performance
- Improve conversion rates across adverts, websites, landing pages and enquiry forms
- Work with website developers, videographers and content creators to make sure campaigns have the assets they need
- Join onboarding and review calls with partners alongside the founder and explain clearly what we will be doing for their business
- Report results clearly and honestly, using plain English rather than marketing jargon
- Continuously test, monitor and improve campaigns using real performance data
- Keep up to date with changes across Google Ads, Meta and digital marketing
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Strong, proven experience managing both Google Ads and Meta campaigns
- Experience managing multiple advertising accounts and budgets at the same time
- A clear track record of generating qualified leads, not just clicks, impressions or low quality form submissions
- Strong knowledge of campaign structure, targeting, bidding, keyword research and negative keywords
- Experience setting up and checking conversion tracking, call tracking, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
- The ability to analyse campaign performance and make improvements without needing constant direction
- Experience running both B2C and B2B lead generation campaigns
- A good understanding of landing pages, conversion rates and the complete journey from advert to enquiry
- Strong written communication and the ability to write effective advertising copy
- Comfortable speaking directly with business owners and explaining results in plain English
- Commercial awareness and an understanding that the real result is profitable work for our partners, not an attractive marketing report
- Organised and able to manage multiple partner accounts without allowing standards to slip
Desirable
- Experience marketing construction, home improvement or trade businesses
- Experience generating leads for high value services
- Experience with email marketing, remarketing and CRM systems
- Understanding of local SEO and Google Business Profiles
- Landing page building or website editing experience
- Experience working with videographers, designers or content creators
- Knowledge of AI marketing and automation tools
You do not need to be an expert in every area of digital marketing. However, you must be genuinely experienced in Google Ads and Meta, understand lead generation and be ready to take ownership of performance from the beginning.
Salary and Performance Bonus
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per year, depending on experience.
In addition to the basic salary, there will be an opportunity to earn a performance related bonus based on the results you deliver and the retention of the partner accounts you manage.
When our partners get results, remain with us and grow their businesses, you will be rewarded for the part you have played. As Trade Engine and our partner network grow, we want your earnings to grow with them.
Full details of the bonus structure will be discussed during the interview process.
Benefits
