We are seeking a Senior Drawing Technician to support the production, maintenance, validation and continual improvement of technical drawing and spatial information across a contract portfolio.
Working under the direction of the Technical Drawings Lead, this role plays a key part in ensuring drawings remain accurate, controlled and fit for operational use.
Job Description
The successful candidate will contribute to drawing governance, assurance, space planning and information management activities while supporting the assessment, classification and remediation of the drawing estate.
This role requires strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to maintaining high-quality, compliant drawing information.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce, update, validate and maintain technical drawings, models and associated records using approved systems and standards.
- Review and validate drawing information to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with approved standards.
- Support the assessment, classification and remediation of the technical drawing estate.
- Maintain drawing metadata, classification, revisions and status within approved information management systems.
- Support space planning through maintenance of floor plans, occupancy data and spatial records.
- Coordinate and review consultant, contractor and project drawing deliverables.
- Identify drawing discrepancies and quality issues, escalating where appropriate.
- Support drawing governance, quality assurance and information management activities.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Experience managing technical drawing information across large, complex construction, engineering, government or FM portfolios.
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit and technical drawing standards.
- Strong understanding of ISO 19650, CDEs, information governance and UK drawing standards.
- Experience leading drawing assurance, governance and improvement programmes.
- Experience reviewing consultant, contractor and supply chain drawing deliverables.
- Strong understanding of construction, engineering and building services documentation.
- Experience supporting major projects, mobilisations and operational estates.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates technical leadership, attention to detail and professional integrity.
- Full UK driving licence required (travel involved).
