Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Labourer to join our team, responsible for supporting various construction, landscaping, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, practical skills in horticulture and general maintenance, and the ability to operate a range of tools and machinery. This role offers valuable experience in outdoor work environments and the opportunity to develop specialised skills in landscape maintenance, gardening, and construction.
Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, mowing, and general gardening duties
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators and irrigation systems safely and effectively
- Support construction activities by handling materials, digging trenches, and preparing sites for development
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with the installation and repair of irrigation systems and other outdoor infrastructure
- Maintain a clean and organised work site, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards
- Follow instructions from supervisors regarding daily tasks and project priorities
Requirements
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or construction is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators
- Basic understanding of horticulture principles and gardening techniques
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good teamwork skills and a proactive attitude towards safety procedures
- Valid relevant certifications or licences (e.g., operating excavators or irrigation systems) are advantageous but not essential
- Prior experience with maintenance tasks or horticultural work will be considered an asset
This position is ideal for individuals eager to gain practical experience in outdoor labouring roles within construction, landscaping, or horticulture sectors. All roles are paid positions.
Pay: £90.00-£180.86 per day
