Allied Pharmacies is looking for a Delivery Driver to join our team at the Port Talbot Resource Centre, helping us get essential medicines safely and promptly to the people who depend on us.
In this important role, you'll be the face of our pharmacy for many patients, so a courteous manner and a caring attitude are just as important as safe driving skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver prescriptions and pharmacy items to patients' homes, care homes and other locations across the local area
- Plan efficient delivery routes and manage your time to ensure timely drop-offs
- Handle medicines with care, following all confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
- Obtain signatures and maintain accurate delivery records
- Carry out basic vehicle checks and keep the vehicle clean, tidy and roadworthy
- Provide a friendly, professional point of contact for patients at the door
- Support the wider pharmacy team with light duties when required
What we're looking for:
- A full, valid UK driving licence with a good driving record
- A polite, patient and approachable manner, particularly with elderly or vulnerable patients
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility
- Good local knowledge of Port Talbot and surrounding areas (or confidence using sat nav)
- An understanding of the importance of confidentiality when handling medicines
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a close-knit team
