Cardiff and Vale College is looking to appoint a Body & Paint Instructor to join our Automotive Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industry professional to use their skills and expertise to support the next generation of automotive technicians.
You will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering practical instruction in Body Repair and Vehicle Refinishing, supporting learner achievement and progression, and maintaining a safe, professional and industry-standard workshop environment. Working closely with curriculum colleagues, you will help learners develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and behaviours required for successful careers within the automotive industry.
You will deliver high-quality practical training and assessment activities, supporting learners across a range of programmes. The role includes monitoring learner progress, maintaining accurate records, preparing and maintaining specialist workshops and equipment, and promoting high standards of health and safety.
You will also contribute to curriculum development, support employer engagement activities, maintain industry knowledge through continuing professional development, and help ensure learners are equipped with the skills employers are looking for.
We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable automotive professional with recent industry experience in vehicle body repair, refinishing or accident repair.
You will hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant automotive discipline and be confident demonstrating practical body repair and vehicle refinishing techniques. Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to motivate and support learners from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
Previous experience within further education, work-based learning or apprenticeship provision would be advantageous, as would teaching, assessor or industry-accredited qualifications.
