Overview
The role of a Table Official in basketball involves overseeing the smooth operation of game procedures at official matches. Responsibilities
- Accurately record scores, fouls, and other game statistics using official score sheets or electronic systems
- Manage game clock and shot clock to ensure precise timing during play
- Communicate effectively with referees, coaches, and players regarding game procedures and rulings
- Monitor player substitutions and ensure adherence to rules governing substitutions
- Enforce game regulations in collaboration with referees to maintain fair play
- Keep detailed records of each match for official documentation and future reference
- Assist with setting up equipment and ensuring the playing area meets safety standards before each game
Requirements
- Qualification payed by us for you do not needed
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules and regulations; previous experience as a scorekeeper or official is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions during fast-paced games
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with officials, players, and spectators
- Willingness to work Thursday 19:00-21:00, 1-2 times a month, from September to April
- Basic proficiency with electronic scoring systems or willingness to learn new technology
