Main purpose of job:
Ventol Ltd is looking for an experienced Fire & Security Installation Engineer to join our expanding team. We deliver high-quality fire and security solutions to commercial, industrial, education, and public sector clients throughout the UK.
Working as part of a professional and dedicated engineering team, you will undertake projects involving fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control systems, intruder alarms, and associated infrastructure. You will be expected to work to industry standards and company procedures, ensuring all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of workmanship.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from standalone installations to large integrated fire and security solutions. No two days are the same, providing varied and rewarding work across a range of sectors.
Due to the nature of our projects and client requirements, the role will involve travel to sites across the UK. Occasional work outside normal working hours, including evenings may be required to minimise disruption to client operations. Some projects may also necessitate overnight stays, with accommodation and associated expenses provided where applicable.

Main Duties are but not limited to;
- Carrying out planned installation across fire and security systems
- Understanding detailed drawings and specifications to identify and implement plan of works
- First and second fix of equipment into commercial and industrial premises
- Completing accurate installation documentation and records
- Identifying any areas that are non-compliant
- Work closely with contractors, other engineers, site supervisors and project managers to deliver the proposed installation works within the proposed time frame.
- Having a thorough understanding of British Standards as well as knowledge of various equipment and systems.
- Reporting any variations from the original scope back to the project manager.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, health and safety, and professionalism
Systems you’ll work with:
· Fire: Advanced, Morley, Kentec, Notifier and other open protocol systems
· Intruder: Pyronix, Texecom, Galaxy
· Access Control: Paxton, Salto, C-Cure
· CCTV: Hikvision, Genie, Avigilon, Hanwha
Essential
- Proven experience with fire alarm and/or electronic security systems
- Strong communication, IT skills and customer facing ability
- Understanding of BS5839 2025 Part 1, BS7671, BS8243:2021
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or part of a team
- Health and safety knowledge
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Must be able to work out of hours and travel nationwide
- Full UK driving license
- DBS & BPSS check (will be undertaken as part of the vetting process)
- BS7858 security clearance (will be undertaken as part of the vetting process)
