Job Summary
We are a supplier of PE & Ductile underground Utility Mains across the UK and subcontract for many Tier 1 Contractors.
We are seeking a Junior Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for various projects, supporting the senior estimators and project managers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn and develop new skills in cost control and project budgeting within a professional and friendly environment.
You will be taught and supervised by a Senior Estimator who will support you as you learn the ropes.

Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for upcoming projects, including labour, materials, and equipment.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine scope of work.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing information.
- Support the review of project bids and proposals to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Contribute to the development of cost control procedures and monitor project expenses throughout the lifecycle.
- Maintain organised records of all estimate documentation for future reference and audits.
- Participate in meetings with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to discuss project requirements and budgets.
- Assist in identifying potential risks related to costs and recommend mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Prior experience or education related to construction, engineering, or quantity surveying is desirable (Not essential).
- Strong organisational skills.
- Good numerical ability.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop something new within the role.
Pay: From £26,000.00 per year
