What is the job role?
We are looking for a Practice and Performance Analyst with a strong focus on data delivery, reporting and business intelligence to join Coventry City Council’s Insight Team.
This role is centred on producing high-quality, timely and accurate data products that support operational services, particularly within Children’s Services. You will be responsible for developing reports, dashboards and performance outputs that enable services to understand demand, monitor performance, and improve outcomes.
You will:

Design, build and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g. Power BI, Excel, SQL-based outputs)

Deliver regular and ad hoc performance reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making
-
Translate complex data into clear, accessible insights for a range of audiences
-
Monitor key performance indicators and highlight risks, trends and areas for improvement
-
Work closely with service leads to ensure reporting meets business needs
-
Support statutory returns and ensure accuracy and quality of submitted data
-
Improve data processes, automation and reporting efficiency
-
Ensure data is used responsibly, including consideration of equality and diversity impacts
This is a delivery-focused role where your ability to produce reliable, insightful and user-friendly data outputs will directly support front-line services and leadership teams.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, data-driven and confident in producing high-quality reporting outputs.
You will:

Have strong experience producing data reports, dashboards or visualisations

Be confident using data tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL or similar
-
Have excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality
-
Be able to manage and prioritise multiple reporting requirements
-
Clearly communicate data and insights to non-technical audiences
-
Be proactive in improving reporting processes and identifying efficiencies
-
Have an understanding of performance data (public sector experience is desirable but not essential)
-
Be committed to inclusive practice and using data responsibly
