Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Nursery Lunch Cover to support our childcare team during lunchtime hours. The successful candidate will assist in supervising children, ensuring their safety, and providing a nurturing environment during meal times and must hold a minimum of Level 2 childcare qualification.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in early childhood education or childcare to gain valuable experience within a supportive setting.
Duties
- Supervise children during staff lunch hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist children with eating and encourage good manners and behaviour.
- Support the organisation of lunchtime activities and ensure the environment remains clean and tidy.
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents as required.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including food hygiene standards.
- Support the wider nursery team with additional tasks as needed, including light cleaning or organisational duties.
- Ensure children are engaged in appropriate activities and promote positive social interactions.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or in childcare settings is desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to interact positively with children, staff, and parents.
- Management or leadership experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a busy nursery environment.
- A caring attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation purposes if required by the role.
- Childcare qualifications or nursery experience will be considered an asset.
