Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Associate Dentist to join our established dental teams across Carntyne Dental Care and Tollcross Dental Care in Glasgow.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dentist looking to develop their clinical experience within a supportive and collaborative environment, while working across a mixed NHS and private patient base.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality general dental care, build strong relationships with patients and work closely with our experienced clinical and support teams. There is also an opportunity to develop your private treatment skills and broaden your clinical experience as your career progresses.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out comprehensive dental examinations, diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide high-quality general dental care to NHS and private patients.
- Deliver a range of routine and restorative treatments within your clinical scope.
- Discuss treatment options clearly with patients and support them in making informed decisions about their care.
- Develop personalised treatment plans based on individual patient needs and clinical findings.
- Maintain accurate, detailed and confidential clinical records.
- Provide appropriate preventive and oral health advice to patients.
- Establish and maintain professional, trusting relationships with patients.
- Work collaboratively with Dental Nurses, clinicians and the wider practice team.
- Maintain high standards of clinical care, infection control and patient safety.
- Manage your patient diary effectively and contribute to the smooth running of the practice.
- Recognise when patients may benefit from treatment outside your scope of practice and utilise appropriate internal referral pathways.
- Take an active role in your own professional and clinical development.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in general dentistry with a strong foundation in core clinical skills.
- Confidence treating a mixed NHS and private patient base.
- Excellent clinical, diagnostic and treatment-planning skills.
- Strong communication and patient management skills.
- A professional, caring and patient-focused approach.
- The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a collaborative clinical team.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical care.
- A genuine interest in continued professional development.
- Motivation to develop private treatment skills and expand clinical experience.
Desirable Experience
Experience, training or a particular interest in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Restorative dentistry
- Cosmetic dentistry
- Dental implants
- Orthodontics
- Sedation
- Oral surgery
- Other specialist or advanced dental procedures
These are not essential to the role. Appropriate cases can be referred internally to clinicians with the relevant experience and expertise.
