Customer Service, Sales & Order Coordinator
KI Metals is a Birmingham-based steel stockholder supplying steel products to trade and retail customers. We are looking for a reliable, organised and confident Customer Service, Sales & Order Coordinator to support our busy sales, customer service and order-processing operation.
This is a practical office-based role suited to someone who enjoys speaking with customers, following up quotations, keeping orders moving and making sure details are handled accurately.
Key responsibilities:
- Handle incoming customer calls, emails and online messages professionally.
- Respond to customer enquiries and provide accurate product and order information.
- Prepare customer quotations and follow them up to help convert enquiries into orders.
- Process customer orders and check for customer notes or special instructions.
- Create or support shipping labels and order paperwork when required.
- Keep customers updated about order progress, delivery and any queries.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, customer communication and follow-ups.
- Work closely with the warehouse and operations team to ensure orders are completed correctly and on time.
- Help identify sales opportunities from incoming enquiries and existing customers.
- Build good knowledge of KI Metals' steel products and services.
Essential requirements:
- Previous experience in sales administration, customer service or order processing.
- Experience handling customer enquiries by phone and email.
- Confident preparing or assisting with quotations.
- Good attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Comfortable using Windows-based computer systems, email and spreadsheets.
- Organised, reliable and able to manage several tasks at once.
- Professional telephone manner and strong written communication.
- Confident following up quotations and asking customers for the order.
Desirable experience:
- Experience in steel stockholding, metals, engineering, construction products, industrial supplies, merchanting or similar B2B environments.
- Experience with WooCommerce, eBay business messages, CRM systems or order-management systems.
- Experience working closely with warehouse, dispatch or logistics teams.
Salary and benefits:
- £30,000 to £33,000 per year depending on relevant experience.
- Company pension.
- Performance-related bonus or commission opportunity after training, subject to agreed qualifying conditions.
Working arrangements:
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- Fully on-site at B18 7AD, Birmingham.
- Start date as soon as possible.

Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
