The Anchor is an independent, well-established village pub in Stanwell Moor, near Heathrow. We’re dog- and family-friendly, known for a warm welcome and good-quality traditional pub food.
We’re hiring an experienced part-time cook who can follow our recipes, portions and presentation standards consistently. This is not a menu-development or creative chef role. You’ll be trained to prepare and cook our established menu properly every time.
Pay: £12.71 per hour + paid holiday (equivalent to 12.07% extra per hour when holiday pay is included)
Hours: 4–16 hours per week (part-time, permanent)
Start date: As soon as possible
Typical shifts
- Tuesday–Friday: afternoon and evening shifts
- Saturday: daytime or evening shifts
- Sunday: lunchtime shifts
- Occasional events and private bookings
- Shifts include preparation and kitchen close-down
- Weekend availability required on a rota basis
This role is for you if you…
- Have at least one year’s experience in a pub, restaurant, catering or commercial kitchen
- Can follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation instructions
- Take food hygiene and allergen procedures seriously
- Work cleanly, calmly and consistently
- Want steady, long-term part-time work
- Are comfortable working independently once trained
- Can prepare traditional pub food, including Sunday roasts

This role suits someone local. You must:
- Live within approximately 15 minutes of TW19 6AQ
- Have reliable transport to and from the pub
- Check your transport arrangements before applying
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing and cooking our established pub menu
- Following recipes, portions and presentation standards
- Preparing Sunday roasts, event food and simple buffets
- Checking food quality before it leaves the kitchen
- Following food hygiene and allergen procedures
- Rotating and correctly storing ingredients
- Keeping the kitchen and equipment clean
- Completing preparation and kitchen close-down tasks
Training and support
- Full training on our menu, recipes and kitchen procedures
- A supportive, close-knit team with clear standards
- Level 2 training in Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and COSHH
- Allergen training
- Potential for additional hours after approximately six months
