Duties
- Assist roofers with setting up work sites, including scaffolding and safety barriers
- Handle and operate hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, and nail guns safely and efficiently
- Prepare roofing materials according to project specifications using schematics and fabrication techniques
- Support with the installation of roofing components, ensuring alignment with project plans and safety standards
- Perform heavy lifting of materials like shingles, metal sheets, and insulation to facilitate smooth workflow
- Aid in the use of welding equipment when required for metal roofing or structural supports
- Help with general construction tasks including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and other related trades as needed
Requirements
- Basic understanding of schematics and construction drawings
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, and fabrication processes preferred
- Prior construction or roofing experience is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to roofing, scaffolding, and general construction sites
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards assisting others on-site
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks for extended periods
