Job Summary
The Three Stags is a traditional gastropub located in the heart of Kennington serving British classics with a changing seasonal menu. We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. We would also consider an experienced CDP who is willing to step up.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained. This position requires a strong background in culinary arts, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to food safety and quality.
This is a live in role and accommodation will be provided for free (besides council tax) in the flat above the pub in the heart of central London. It is a single room and you will be sharing the flat with the General Manager, Head Chef and Supervisor.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff.
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

- Strong culinary skills with experience in a professional kitchen environment.
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques and knowledge of various cooking methods with fresh food.
- Excellent leadership abilities, with experience supervising kitchen staff.
- In-depth understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate teamwork within the kitchen.
